a love letter: boscia bb cream

THIS STUFF IS GENIUS. I know BB creams (“beauty balm” or “blemish balm,” depending on who you ask) are a “trend” right now in the makeup world and blah, blah how cliche Kara to have fallen for it, but goddamn I love this Boscia stuff so much!

I got a sample in a Sephora VIB goodie bag and thought, EH, my scars are too dark for this to cover, better not even try. Tinted moisturizer doesn’t cover my dark marks, so my hopes were pretty low when I read BB creams were a basically a glorified TM.

Guess what? SO MUCH BETTER. The Boscia cream ($38 at Sephora; expensive, but you really only need a little) is “one shade fits all” and while that’s usually a crock, it’s true. I use it, my mom uses it and my roommate Amy uses it - our skin tones are totally different and it works for all. It gives your skin a lovely sheen due to tiny shimmer particles, covers imperfections but doesn’t cake on, has SPF and is supposed to moisturize, brighten and also fight wrinkles! Does it do all that? I’m not sure yet, but I’ve slept in it a few times (oops, I know) and it hasn’t broken me out, which is a plus. I get ready in like five minutes now thanks to this stuff; just dust a little powder over it and BAM.
